DSIP (Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide)

DSIP (Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide) is a naturally occurring nonapeptide originally isolated from the brain in 1974, composed of nine amino acids. Oxytocin

Oxytocin is a cyclic nonapeptide hormone and neuropeptide produced in the hypothalamus and released by the posterior pituitary. It plays a central role in social bonding, emotional regulation, reproduction, childbirth, and lactation, earning the designation as the ‘bonding’ or ‘social’ hormone. Clinically, synthetic oxytocin (e.g., Pitocin, Syntocinon) is FDA-approved for labor induction and postpartum hemorrhage control. Beyond obstetrics, intranasal and experimental uses are being investigated for neuropsychiatric conditions including autism spectrum disorder, anxiety, PTSD, and social cognition disorders.
